Rare, Thick Green/Yellow, 11.6 ct. Imperial Translucent Black Omphacite Jadeite Jade (Grade A) Set in a Lightweight 18K White Gold Ring with White Sapphire Accent Stones

This 11.6 ct. cabochon was cut recently and shows the most gorgeous and very rare green/yellow color when placed under transmitted light. Under normal, overhead lighting, the cabochon appears a perfect black color with no visible inclusions. 

This type of high quality is extremely rare to find in such a large carat size making this stone an extremely rare and special piece of Omphacite Jadeite unseen in the Western gem markets outside of China. I acquired this stone in Myanmar and it was of a limited quantity.

The ring is made from lightweight 18k white gold and accompanying White Sapphire accent stones. The stone can also easily be reset into a new ring if desired

This stone is perfect for such engagements such as weddings and Anniversaries and can easily be made into a ring or pendant to celebrate such occasions.

There are no visible cracks and this particular piece is clear of visible inclusions and considered to be of museum quality worthy of any Billionaire's private gem collection

Background :
Far rarer than both diamonds and rubies is that of Imperial Translucent Black Omphacite Jadeite Jade. Only a small fraction of the jadeite found in Myanmar is black of which only about 5% is of a fine enough texture that it could be made into jewelry (cabochons) usually combining Omphacite with Jadeite. Of that 5% of jewelry quality black jadeite, only about 1% is translucent in nature and will turn a brilliant imperial green when placed under a transmitted light source.

Imperial Translucent Black Omphacite-Jadeite Jade is a unique stone to possess. It is said that this type of Jadeite takes at least 3 times longer to form (300 million years) than jadeite of other colors making the presence of this stone very limited, only found randomly in small amounts.
